The Marine Corps answered the city’s request for rules governing the use of a Camp Pendleton helicopter training facility being built near San Clemente city limits by drafting a document Tuesday that assures the city how the helipad will be operated.

Although the statement of policy addressed certain city concerns by stating the facility will likely see fewer than 430 daily operations and that pilots using the helipad will be sensitive to potential noise impacts on nearby residents, the military warns that the guidelines set forth may be subject to change.
