Connecticut point guard Khalid El-Amin took it easy in practice Friday while recovering from a deep bruise on his right thigh.

His status for Sunday’s game against Seton Hall will be determined on game day, Connecticut spokesman Tim Tolakan said.

El-Amin injured his leg in Thursday’s 64-50 win over Providence when he was fouled by Friar center Karim Shabazz and sat out most of the second half. He shot free throws while the No. 6 Huskies practiced on Friday and underwent three rehabilitation sessions with trainer Joe Sharpe.

Penn State freshman guard Jon Crispin will miss three to four weeks because of a stress fracture in his right foot.

The injury does not require surgery and Crispin will undergo treatment to help the bone heal on its own.

The 6-foot-2 shooting guard is fourth on the team in scoring with 9.5 points a game. He leads the team in three-point accuracy at 36%. Crispin started the season’s first 13 games and had since come off the bench.

South Carolina officials warn they won’t tolerate another episode of debris throwing like the one at the end of Wednesday’s game against Vanderbilt.

Ice, paper cups, T-shirts, an empty liquor mini-bottle and an aluminum can rained down from the Carolina Coliseum stands after the Gamecocks’ Aaron Lucas was called for a foul with less than a second left. The Commodores’ Dan Langhi made both foul shots and Vanderbilt won, 61-60.

“The last thing we want, obviously, is for anybody to get injured,” assistant athletic director Kerry Tharp said. “We won’t tolerate that.”

No one was hurt and no one was arrested, school spokesman Jason Snyder said.

Snow, sleet, freezing rain and icy roads forced the postponement of today’s Southwestern Athletic Conference men’s and women’s games between Grambling and Southern at Grambling, La. Both games have been rescheduled for Wednesday.
