Candidates

* The present candidates for the office of president are a very disappointing group. A great deal has been said about Social Security, Medicare, education, tax reform, tax credits, etc., yet little, if anything, has been said about foreign policy. What about China, the trade deficit, Russia, NAFTA and nuclear proliferation, all of which have an ultimate bearing on the issues they so eagerly discuss? However, the one foreign policy issue receiving a great deal of attention is that of the fate of young Elian Gonzalez.

* The Republicans have overlooked the candidate who might best advance their national agenda. This former governor has a track record of strengthening his state’s economy, paying off debts, encouraging small business, creating jobs in the private sector, putting welfare recipients to work and improving educational opportunities. Unfortunately, they hate Bill Clinton for stealing their issues.
