L.A. Man Dies After Car He Was Riding in Crashes Into Tree
A 21-year-old Los Angeles man died after the car he was riding in crashed into a tree on the Ventura Freeway near Griffith Park, authorities said Sunday.
Yusuke Sunago was a passenger in a 1995 Honda traveling east at 80 mph to 90 mph near Forest Lawn Drive about 8 p.m. Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver lost control of the car and it hit a tree, CHP Officer Richard Richards said.
Sunago, who suffered massive chest trauma, died about 8:30 a.m. Saturday at an area hospital, Richards said.
The driver, a 19-year-old Los Angeles woman whose name has not been released, suffered a broken leg.
