What you will see: A 25-minute fireworks show set to patriotic music

Other events: Starting at 5:30 p.m., there will be a concert, food booths and rides. Earlier in the day, there will be a parade, foot races, breakfast, baseball game and other activities in town.

Events: Presidential impressionists will mingle with the crowd, music from the Los Angeles Police Department band, replicas of more than 100 American flags, storytelling, games and a pie-eating contest. The Confederate Air Force will fly over the crowd at 2 p.m.

VENTURA

Admission: $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 4 to 12, free for children under 4 (pre-sale tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children, available at Vons stores and McDonald’s restaurants in Ventura)
What you will see: A 38-minute pyro-musical called “The Magic of Fireworks”

Other events: A three-hour stage show called “The Music of America” with bluegrass, blues and jazz. There will also be children’s games, clowns, contests and balloon sculptures

Pushem-Pullem Parade, Cemetery Park off Main Street
Begins: 10:30 a.m.; sign-up is at 9 a.m.
Admission: Free
Events: Members of the Great Ventura All-Star Marching Band (all residents are encouraged to join) play kazoos and old-time instruments and bang on pot lids. The parade begins at Cemetery Park and continues down Main Street. A street fair signals the parade’s end.
