Volunteers Needed for Reading Program
The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo needs volunteers for a summer reading program that started earlier this month and runs through the end of August.
“Power Readers” is a class that helps children in first through sixth grades with reading skills.
The children are enrolled in the Camarillo Public Library Summer Reading Program, club officials said.
Volunteers are needed for one or two hours a week Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The volunteers help children select books and supervise reading for an hour.
Applications for volunteering are available at the club at 1500 Temple Ave. or by calling club spokesman Jack Carlson or Lyn Sylva at 482-8113.
