At least one new City Council member will be sworn into office after November’s elections to fill three expiring terms.
Councilman John C. Holmberg has said he will not run for reelection Nov. 7, leaving that seat up for grabs among the candidates.
Mayor Steven C. Anderson and Councilman David E. McCauley plan to seek reelection to their seats.
Holmberg said it’s time to move on and dedicate more time to family and business.
The candidate filing period for the City Council race opened Monday. Council hopefuls can pick up nomination papers at the city clerk’s office at 201 E. La Habra Blvd. All forms are due back by Aug. 16, provided Holmberg does not file for reelection before Aug. 11.
