SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
Preparations by actors and other staff members are underway for “Capistrano,” a historical musical about Mission San Juan Capistrano that opens July 29.
The annual Capistrano Mission Pageant, which features the musical, began last year.
The Mission Pageant Foundation hired book and lyric writer Bruce Goodrich two years ago to create a historical pageant, but Goodrich said he decided to use a musical format to make the play more dramatic and emotional.
