The city is moving ahead with the Lakewalk project, which will create a landscaped walkway between the south end of Lake Mission Viejo and Alicia Parkway.

Keith Rattay, the city’s maintenance service manager, said engineers are working on site surveys and the city staff is attempting to obtain permission for public access to private property before taking the project to the City Council for final approval.

Preliminary plans call for Lakewalk to be below street level along an 800-foot stretch of Alicia Parkway. It will include sitting areas with benches and gardens along the path.
