SANTA FE SPRINGS —
A man was slain on a street Monday afternoon in what police described as a drive-by shooting.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was walking on Carmenita Road in front of an auto parts store at about 2:15 p.m. when shots were fired from a passing car, said Sgt. Steve Francis of the Whittier Police Department. Francis said the car sped away after the attack.
No suspects had been identified and the motive for the shooting was unknown, Francis said.
