Having played the Orange County Performing Arts Center with the Pacific Symphony in April, the great Ray Charles returns with his band for a show Sunday in the more intimate surroundings of Anaheim’s Sun Theatre. Whether focusing on soul, rock, country, jazz or American pop standards, Charles still finds a way through a tune like no one else.

The Jewish Film Festival, having touched on the dangers of Neo-Nazism with “Hannah” and the plight of Holocaust survivors with “The Long Way Home,” goes back to the homeland with its final film. “Hamsin (Hot Desert Wind),” an Oscar-nominated 1983 drama by Daniel Wachsman, tells the story of a farmer, caught in the midst of an Arab-Jew conflict in Galilee, who discovers his sister has formed a bond with one of his Arab workers.
