* Museum--Santa Barbara Museum of Art, 1130 State St., will open “Nam June Paik: Video Art Pioneer” Saturday. The exhibit explores the work of the Korean American artist, one of the earliest video artists and a founder of Fluxus, a multimedia art movement begun in the early 1960s. Paik is known for creating massive sculptural installations with television sets. The minimalist “TV Clock” will be the exhibition’s centerpiece. It consists of 24 color televisions mounted upright on pedestals. Hours: Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday, noon-5 p.m. Closed Monday. Through Oct. 8. * Stars--Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History’s astronomy club holds its monthly stargazing party Saturday evening. Telescopes and other equipment will be set up outside Palmer Observatory on the museum grounds, 2559 Puesta del Sol Road, Santa Barbara. Guided by club members, event-goers will view moon craters and other celestial bodies. Hours: 8:30-10 p.m. $2 adults, $1 children. 682-4711, Ext. 405.

* Chorale--Santa Barbara Oratorio Chorale, performing with the Santa Barbara Jazz Combo, will present a “Tribute to Musical Theater” at First Presbyterian Church. Two weekend performances will celebrate 100 years of Broadway. Show times: Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 3 p.m. $15 general; $12 seniors, students and disabled. The church is at 21 E. * Concert--After a three-year hiatus, hard-rock band Stone Temple Pilots is back on the road in support of its latest release, “No. 4.” The group will make a tour stop Wednesday at Santa Barbara Bowl.
