Broadband Interactive Buys Women’s Board Sport Web Site

New media company Broadband Interactive Group in Irvine said Wednesday that it has acquired Chicksticks.com, a groundbreaking action sports Web site designed exclusively for female surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding enthusiasts.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the agreement, Chicksticks.com chief executive officer and founder Tracey Hagemann will join BIG’s Bluetorch network as “senior producer, girl content,” to develop Bluetorch’s female initiative.

BIG’s Bluetorch is a cross-media network of television, print, Internet media and competitive events targeting participants and fans of skateboarding, wake-boarding, surfing, bodyboarding, snowboarding, in-line skating, motocross and BMX.
