Disneyland’s Autopia Reopening

Disneyland said Thursday that its renovated Autopia ride will be back in action by June 25, with an official reopening on June 29.

The attraction, which lets patrons drive miniature cars, has been part of Disneyland since the park opened 45 years ago. The latest version, in the Tomorrowland section, replaces two Autopias that had operated separately.

The refurbishment began in September 1999. Designers came up with three new cars, styled to resemble a coupe, a sports car and an off-road vehicle. The paint on some cars changes shades depending on the angle from which it’s seen.
