The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosts a sold-out 25th anniversary screening of Robert Altman’s “Nashville” next Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with Altman and many of his colleagues present, kicking off a five-week series at LACMA. “Altman’s America: A 30th Anniversary Retrospective” begins June 23 with a 7:30 p.m. screening of “The Player” (1992) plus Robert Altman in conversation with Robert Rosen, dean of UCLA’s film and television department.
