A settlement agreement between the city and City Manager Arthur C. Simonian has been in the works for the last few weeks, and council members are expected to take some kind of action on the matter next week.

Councilman Henry W. Wedaa said Wednesday he expects the council will have all the information needed to be able to vote on the settlement Tuesday. He said a final draft, which is currently being prepared, should be ready before the regular council meeting.

Simonian, now on paid administrative leave, is in the midst of a legal battle with the city, which is suing him to recover more than $300,000 in bonuses he allegedly paid himself without proper authorization. Simonian has denied any wrongdoing and is suing to get his job back.
