Family of Woman Killed by Truck Starts Memorial Fund
LA PUENTE —
The family of a 77-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a truck while she was collecting cans over the Memorial Day weekend has established a memorial fund.
Lorenza Ruedas, a beloved figure on Bromley Street in La Puente, recycled cans to pay for her husband’s permanent resident status, and she was hoping to save enough to do the same for herself.
Those wishing to contribute to the family can send donations to the Lorenza Ruedas Fund, Washington Mutual, 925 N. Hacienda Blvd., La Puente, CA 91744.
