Hewitt Gives Sampras a Surprise in London
Australian teenager Lleyton Hewitt got a shot of confidence from Pete Sampras on Sunday, beating the six-time Wimbledon champion, 6-4, 6-4, to win the Queen’s Club tournament at London.
“He’s going to be a threat at Wimbledon,” Sampras said. “Winning it might take a few years, but if he gets his game going and serves like that and returns like that, he’s going to be tough to beat.”
Sampras, who served only five aces to Hewitt’s nine, looked flat and failed to serve or volley up to his standards in the tournament.
