The owner of a Hollywood apartment building has been ordered to pay nearly $11,000 in fines and costs after a no-contest plea to criminal slum violations in Los Angeles Superior Court, officials said.

An attorney representing Hollywood Hudson LLC entered the plea late Wednesday on 10 of 39 violations of local fire, health and building, and safety codes at its 52-unit building located at 6531 Hollywood Blvd., said Deputy Dist. Atty. Lawrence P.V. Punter.

The remaining 29 counts were dismissed, said Punter, adding that the building is currently boarded up and secured.

The violations were discovered during inspections last summer by the Slum House Task Force, made up of various local building and safety, fire and enforcement officials.

Among the alleged violations found by the task force were damaged fire doors, defective smoke detectors, deteriorated drainpipes and cockroach and rodent infestations.
