The city will begin to accept the paperwork July 17 for prospective candidates in the City Council elections Nov 7. The forms are available at City Hall and must be filed by Aug. 11.
Three council members are up for reelection: Henry W. Wedaa, Mark Schwing and Barbara W. Kiley. Schwing announced Tuesday that he will seek reelection. Kiley said she will not run for a third term, and Wedaa said he is undecided.
If one of the incumbents fails to file by Aug. 11, the nomination period will be automatically extended until 5 p.m. Aug. 16. The last day for voter registration is Oct. 16. Information: City clerk’s office, (714) 961-7150.
