DANA POINT
The City Council is again considering expanding the Acapulco Preferential Parking District near Dana Hills High School.
The council created the district in September to discourage students from parking on surrounding residential streets by requiring residential parking permits from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
In May, the city expanded the zone after residents complained that students simply moved to streets outside the permit area.
The new proposal would add Acapulco Drive north of Caracas Street, Santiago Drive and Antilles Way between Caracas Street and Trinidad Drive, the south side of Trinidad Drive and the Caribbean Way cul-de-sac.
