City Clerk Carolyn Wallace officially retires next week, but she’ll continue to work under a contract that runs through the end of this year.
Wallace will supervise the November City Council elections and continue to attend all council meetings after her formal retirement July 7. But instead of her usual salary, she will be paid $60 an hour for no more than 120 hours in a month.
The city will replace Wallace after her contract expires Dec. 31, interim City Manager Daniel Miller said.
“By then, the city will have a new city manager as well,” he said. “It’ll almost be a brand new team.” The council is expected to hire a new chief executive by November, Miller said.
