Irish folk singer Briege Murphy performs Sunday at the Raven Playhouse in North Hollywood. Based in County Armagh, Ireland, Murphy has recorded three CDs and is on her first American concert tour.

Country Fair
The Santa Clarita Valley Country Fair will be held this weekend at Newhall Park. There will be carnival rides, games, food and entertainment, including blues by the Carter Brothers, classic rock by the Archives, oldies by Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries, country by the Doo-Wah Riders and R&B; by Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps. A community concert will follow the Fourth of July parade Tuesday.

American History
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley will hold an old-fashioned family Fourth of July celebration, featuring entertainment, storytelling, carnival games and food. Entertainment will include a performance by the Los Angeles Police Department Concert Band and historical impersonators of presidents Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Truman and Theodore Roosevelt.

Benefit Cancert
Recording artists the Busboys, Al Stewart and Stephen Bishop will headline a Fourth of July benefit concert and picnic with fireworks at CBS Studio Center in Studio City. Those attending may bring a picnic or buy food there. Proceeds from the event, sponsored by the Studio City Chamber of Commerce and Brett Stimely, will benefit Olive Crest Homes for Abused Children. Radio personality Uncle Joe Benson will emcee.
