* Musical theater--The Music Theatre of Southern California’s production of “A Chorus Line” comes to the Alex Theatre in Glendale this weekend for five performances. The 1970s show, with music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban, contains adult subject matter and strong language and is not recommended for children. * Western heritage--Beginning in the late 1880s and continuing for more than 30 years, Buffalo Bill Cody’s Wild West Show toured the United States, Europe and Britain. By 1900, Buffalo Bill was one of the most recognized celebrities on the planet. A new exhibit, “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West,” makes its American premiere Saturday at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage in Griffith Park. Produced by the Royal Armouries of Great Britain, the exhibit is an unprecedented collection of Buffalo Bill Cody items, including an original 1867 Deadwood stagecoach, Annie Oakley’s rifle, and a gold and diamond pendant given to Cody by Queen Victoria. * Cartoon convention--Animation Expo 2000, a trade show and educational event, is Saturday and Sunday at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. Hosted by the International Animated Film Society, the event will feature participation from all the major studios, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, displays by animation schools, suppliers, hardware and software companies. * Celtic music--As a prelude to St. Patrick’s Day, the Raven Playhouse in North Hollywood will present a Celtic folk music concert Sunday at 3:30 p.m. featuring solo performers Willie Campbell, Janet Cornwell, David Key and Yavonne Dearth.
