Conference Offered on Graduate Studies
Hoping to challenge students’ notions that graduate degrees are difficult to earn, Cal State Northridge will host a conference Saturday on graduate admissions and programs.
The daylong Advancement to Graduate Education conference--aimed at college sophomores, juniors and seniors--will feature a step-by-step outline of graduate school admissions requirements and degree options, organizers said.
The California State University system has a history of providing opportunities for working parents and minority students to earn postgraduate degrees, said Cedric Hackett, a CSUN academic advisor.
“It is important that we continue to provide access and exposure to the many populations we serve,” he said. “We have set a precedent . . . . by providing this type of service.”
The free conference runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the University Student Union, 18111 Nordhoff St. For information, call (818) 677-2658.
