Councilwoman Lynn Daucher thanked residents who supported her victorious bid to be the Republican nominee for the 72nd Assembly District seat in November.
“I’ve gotten a tremendous amount of local support,” she said Wednesday. “We had over 200 people folding envelopes and putting on stamps Saturday night.”
Councilman Marty Simonoff was there, pasting labels on envelopes and calling voters to help drum up last-minute support for Daucher’s campaign. “She had a really dedicated group of volunteers,” Simonoff said.
Daucher won 33.5% of the vote counted in all 300 polling precincts in the district. Anaheim Hills resident Bruce Matthias came in a close second with 28.4%. The 72nd Assembly District covers Brea, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Yorba Linda and portions of Placentia and Anaheim Hills.
