A woman walking her dog was struck by a car Thursday morning on Del Obispo Street east of Pacific Coast Highway, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Department reports.

Karen Parsons, 43, of Dana Point was attempting to cross Del Obispo about 11:30 a.m. when she was hit by a vehicle driven by William Croce, 24, who had just pulled out of the Dana Point Marina Mobile Home Estates, where he lives, according to reports.

Parsons was flipped onto the hood of Croce’s Mitsubishi Eclipse before falling to the pavement, Sgt. Gil Garcia said.

She suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries to her face, jaw, hand and ankle, and was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, Garcia said.

Neither Croce nor Parson’s dog was hurt in the accident, although a witness said Croce was seriously shaken by the incident.
