FULLERTON
City maintenance crews cleaned up more than 100 feet of asphalt that spilled Monday afternoon at Associated Road and Yorba Linda Boulevard.
The driver of a double asphalt truck was apparently not aware that the back gate of his vehicle had opened, blanketing the intersection with asphalt four inches deep. City officials said he was
unaware of the spill and drove away.
Police at Cal State Fullerton reported the incident because they thought the smoke from the asphalt indicated a fire. No injuries were reported, officials said.
