Opening Would Interest Lucas
If owner Donald Sterling decides not to keep interim Coach Jim Todd and wants to look elsewhere for a coach for next season, Denver assistant John Lucas would be a strong candidate.
Lucas, who sat on the Nugget bench Tuesday night for their game against the Clippers, is respected around the league and has four years of NBA head coaching experience, at San Antonio from 1992-94 and Philadelphia from 1994-96.
“I would definitely be interested in listening [to the Clippers],” said Lucas, who played with six different teams in a 14-year NBA career. “Right now, somebody has the job and I think what they’re doing now is good.”
