The city’s branch of the Orange County Public Library has 15 new computer workstations, six with Internet connections, to replace outdated equipment and expand research capabilities.

“The entire computer bank for the La Habra branch has been replaced,” said Dani Porter, spokeswoman for the county library system. “The older system for looking up books was text-based, while the new machines are more visual: You just point and click to find information.”

Barbara Christian, a library specialist at the La Habra branch, said the computer upgrade is the first the library has seen in 26 years.
