* Theater--The theater company Mabou Mines presents the West Coast premiere of “Las Horas de Belen--A Book of Hours,” a collaboration between the New York-based troupe and artists Jesusa Rodriguez and Liliana Felipe of Mexico City, at CSUN. The play explores the lives of inmates in the Recogimiento de Belen, a 17th century sanctuary for single women in Mexico City created by the Catholic Church. * Music--Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean performs at Cal State Northridge on his third American concert tour. His music was featured in the motion picture “The Last of the Mohicans.” He has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and sold more than 3 million copies of his solo CD worldwide. * Cowboy Way--Santa Clarita’s seventh annual Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival is this weekend. This year’s event is a salute to the American cowgirl. Dale Evans will accept a lifetime achievement award. Actor Richard Farnsworth, singer Don Edwards and actor Peter Brown also will be honored. Performers will include Jill Jones, Liz Masterson, Belinda Gail, Doris Daley, plus the all-female bands Horse Crazy and High Hills. Those attending will be taken to the festival at Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio by shuttle bus, which will leave from the corner of San Fernando Road and 13th Street in Santa Clarita. * History--”Sigmund Freud: Conflict and Culture” opens Tuesday at the Skirball Cultural Center. The exhibit focuses on the life and work of one of the 20th century’s most influential figures, using photos, letters, rare home movies, first editions and personal items. The show was organized by the Library of Congress. It will run through July 25. The Skirball Center is at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, noon-5 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. $6-$8.
