GARDEN GROVE
Students at Barker Elementary School collected $2,476 in pennies this month for the Leukemia Society of America’s Orange County Chapter. Principal Margaret Ferguson and Joan Ross, a school parent and PTA board member who spearheaded the campaign, will present a check to society officials at a ceremony today at the school. Proceeds will go toward finding a cure for leukemia and other blood-related cancers that remain the leading disease killer of children.
