The comedy “Don’t Dress for Dinner” opens Friday at the Woodland Hills Theatre in West Hills. Marc Camoletti’s French farce, adapted into English by Robin Hawdon, is about a philandering husband whose foolproof weekend plans go awry. The Jon Berry-directed production runs through June 3.

Quilting

“Quilting in the Valley 2000” is scheduled this weekend at Cal State Northridge. Sponsored by the San Fernando Quilt Assn. and Valley Quiltmakers Guild, the event will have more than 150 quilts on display, along with a doll exhibit, fashion show, vendors and live quilt auction.

Singing

Reseda High School will host a barbershop singing concert Saturday. This mega-show will feature quartets and choruses from the 14 chapters of the Southern California Western Division of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. Quartets start singing at noon, and choruses are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Music

Dardum, a folk music trio from Aberdeenshire, Scotland, will perform Sunday at the Raven Playhouse in North Hollywood. The Scottish word dardum translates to “chaos,” and the group’s music has been described as an eclectic blend of Celtic folk and American rock influences featuring traditional and original tunes. The group consists of Dick Trickey on guitar, Maggie Trickey on percussion and Art Dickinson on flute and keyboards. The concert is part of the Celtic Arts Center’s monthly concert series.
