Diallo Scores Two to Lead Mutiny

Mamadou Diallo had two goals Saturday as the Tampa Bay Mutiny took over sole possession of first place in Major League Soccer’s Central Division by beating the Dallas Burn, 3-1, before a crowd of 7,051 at Tampa, Fla.

Diallo scored from 12 yards out in the 84th minute for a 2-1 lead, beating Brandon Pollard to a pass from Carlos Valderrama, who had three assists. Kevin Anderson added a goal in the 90th minute for the Mutiny.

Tampa Bay (5-4) is 5-0 at home, outscoring opponents, 17-4.

Jason Kreis’ fourth goal of the season put the Burn (4-4) a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute, but Diallo’s fourth goal tied the score in the 45th minute.

New England 2, San Jose 1--Mauricio Ramos and Wolde Harris each had a goal and an assist as the Revolution extended its unbeaten streak to four games in front of 14,489 at Foxboro, Mass.

The Revolution (2-2-4) took over first place in the MLS’s Eastern Division.

Ramos and Harris scored within three minutes of each other early in the second half to give New England a 2-0 lead.

San Jose’s Abdul Thompson cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 72nd minute.

New York/New Jersey 1, Columbus 0--Adolfo Valencia avoided a pileup for an uncontested goal in the 60th minute before 17,558 at Columbus, Ohio.

Chicago 3, Miami 0--Ante Razov scored three second-half goals for the first hat trick in Fire history before 13,822 at Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Miami (1-3-4) is winless in six matches and has scored only one goal in its last 595 minutes of play.

Washington 5, Colorado 2--Jaime Moreno scored three goals to lead D.C. United in front of 7,125 at Denver.

Moreno, who has seven goals this season, gave United a 2-1 lead on a penalty kick in the 59th minute. He converted on a header in the 62nd minute and completed the scoring in the 78th minute.
