In the Academy League:

Capistrano Valley Christian 7, Downey Calvary Chapel 5--Lauren Capriotti’s three-run homer provided the Eagles (19-2, 9-0) their second consecutive league title.

In the Century League:

No. 1 Foothill 10, Orange 0--Courtney Fossatti (18-1) pitched a one-hitter and struck out 12 as Foothill (27-2, 9-0) won its 10th straight title.

In the Empire League:

Katella 1, El Dorado 0 (13 innings)--Renee Hunt scored on a throwing error, and Julie Gardosik scattered four hits for Katella (5-16, 1-8). Kristen Karanzias allowed only one hit for El Dorado (13-10-1, 6-3), which is tied for first with Cypress and Kennedy.

No. 9 Kennedy 1, Cypress 0 (9)--Michelle Turner, who pitched a two-hitter, scored on a two-out wild pitch for Kennedy (19-5, 6-3).

In the Freeway League:

Troy 4, Buena Park 0--Lindsey Knoff pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts for Troy (19-6, 7-2).

In the Garden Grove League:

Rancho Alamitos 1, No. 6 Pacifica 0 (12 innings)--Kristina Hyllested (17-3) gave up five hits and Jennifer Basile’s two-out single scored Vanessa Brown as the Vaqueros (18-4, 10-1) forced a first-place tie. Pacifica is 19-8-1, 10-1.

In the Orange League:

Valencia 7, Magnolia 0--Michelle Whiteman (11-10) pitched a perfect game and struck out 12.

Western 6, Savanna 1--The Pioneers clinched the league title.

In the Serra League:

No. 2 Mater Dei 10, Lakewood St. Joseph 0--Riki Paredes had three hits and drove in three runs as host Mater Dei (27-1, 5-1) won the first Serra League title.

No. 5 Rosary 3, Santa Margarita 0--Allison Lantz had an RBI single, and two runners scored on wild pitches in a three-run sixth inning for Rosary (20-8, 3-2). The Eagles are 16-12, 3-3.

In the South Coast League:

San Clemente 4, Trabuco Hills 0--Lana Tirre’s one-hitter pulled San Clemente (13-13, 6-3) within one game of the first-place Mustangs (13-13, 7-2).

In the Sunset League:

No. 3 Los Alamitos 1, Huntington Beach 0--Darcey Brown had a double, triple and drove in Mackenzie Deleon for the Griffins (18-7, 8-1).

No. 4 Marina 2, No. 10 Esperanza 1--Steffany Stenglein’s RBI single scored Bree Boyer with the decisive run for the Vikings (21-6, 7-2).

No. 7 Fountain Valley 3, Edison 0--Natlie King pitched a two-hitter, struck out 10 and had two RBIs for the Barons (21-8, 7-2).

In the Freeway League boys’ tennis finals:

Kao defends title--Joseph Kao of Sunny Hills defended his league singles title, beating Jeffrey Das of Troy, 6-2, 6-1 at the Sunny Hills Racquet Club.

Sunny Hills’ Richard Kim and Sam Yeu won the doubles title against teammates Kevin Lee and Daniel Chang, 6-0, 6-2.

Jennings Long of Tustin won third place in singles as did doubles players Edwin Mendoza and Edward Mendoza of Troy.

The top two players from singles and doubles advance to the Southern Section playoffs and third place are alternates.
