Lake Forest Councilwoman, Son Injured in Home Fire
A kitchen fire damaged a Lake Forest City Council member’s home Thursday, sending Kathryn McCullough and her adult son to the hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation, fire officials said.
Paul Hunter, a spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority, said McCullough and her son were treated at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center for minor smoke inhalation after a fire that apparently started on the stove top.
The blaze at the house on the 24000 block of Twig Street was reported about 2 p.m. Investigators said flames destroyed the kitchen of the five-bedroom house, but officials late Thursday had not yet estimated the cost of the damage.
