SAN CLEMENTE
San Clemente High School teacher Andrew Magana has been chosen Orange County Instrumental Music Teacher of the Year by Orange County music and arts administrators.
Magana has taught at the school for seven years, leading classes such as jazz band, concert band, wind ensemble, drum line, orchestra, advanced-placement music theory and color guard.
Magana has also been recognized as Outstanding Music Teacher by the Corwin Institute of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. School officials named him their Teacher of the Year in 1998.
