Cleaning Woman Found Dead in Apartment

A cleaning woman was found slain Friday afternoon in an empty apartment in Laguna Hills, authorities said. Investigators said a fellow worker found the body of Irma Jimenez, 39, about 2 p.m. after she did not answer a call on her walkie-talkie. She had been cleaning an apartment in the Prado Apartments complex in the 24500 block of Los Alisos Boulevard.

In what officials said appeared to be an unrelated incident, investigators in Riverside County detained a man for questioning after he was seen walking away from a car on Ortega Highway with blood smeared on his hands. The man has not been charged, said a sheriff’s spokesman. The location, near the Cleveland National Forest, was 25 miles from the apartment.
