Bob McAdoo, a three-time scoring champion, has been elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame, but one of his former Laker teammates, James Worthy, did not receive sufficient support for election this year.

The hall will announce the results today.

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ players are planning to fly to New York for the Friday funeral of teammate Malik Sealy, who was killed Saturday in a head-on collision. . . . Rob Ades, the agent representing St. John’s Coach Mike Jarvis, denied that he said his client was considering other coaching opportunities after ending talks with the Washington Wizards. . . . NBC’s NBA ratings through the second playoff round have declined 17% from last year, continuing the league’s national broadcast slide from the regular season. The network has generated a 4.8 rating and a 13 share for its 22 NBA playoff telecasts this year.
