The Planning Commission voted last week to allow extended hours and a larger patio area at the Savannah Chop House in the Ocean Ranch II retail center, but promised residents they would try to limit when deliveries to the center could be made.

The decision came after nearby residents complained to the commissioners that they hear delivery trucks, alarms and garbage falling into trash bins during the night.

Although commissioners voted 2 to 1 to extend the restaurant’s hours, they told neighbors they would try to work out an agreement with developer Shea Properties that would limit when trucks could make deliveries within the center.
