Three new sculptures have become part of the city’s Art in Public Places collection.
The works, unveiled during the last few days of October, bring the total count of the city’s public art to 124 pieces.
One sculpture, “Madril De Rosa,” features a stainless-steel figure of a woman in a garden. The sculpture sits in the northeast corner of Imperial Highway and Brea Boulevard.
A piece by Gregory Hawthorne shows an abstract Cubist-style sculpture of a man, woman and child. It is on the corner of Brea Boulevard and Ash Street.
The third work, an untitled sculpture by Laddie John Dill, is an abstract aluminum piece mounted on the wall of the City Walk townhomes facing Brea Boulevard, north of Imperial Highway.
Brea’s Art in Public Places program began in 1975 and was designed to integrate art with public development.
