Second-Half Surge Leads Irvine Valley in Men’s Soccer

Yigal Kerzenbaum scored three goals Tuesday to help Irvine Valley defeat visiting Golden West, 9-2, in men’s soccer. Cameron McKinnon scored twice for the Lasers (9-9-4, 6-6-2), who had six goals in the second half of the Orange Empire Conference final.

Omar Real and Angelo Ladera scored for Golden West (7-11-2, 4-8-2).

In another Orange Empire men’s game:

Cypress 4, Fullerton 3--Freddy Rosales had a goal and two assists to lead visiting Cypress (8-10-3, 5-8-1).

Eric Alafa had two goals for Fullerton.

In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:

Cypress 4, Fullerton 0--Alie Nunez, Harmoni Vasquez, Amy Burcham and Sarah Moranville scored goals for visiting Cypress (23-0-1, 13-0-1), which increased its unbeaten streak to 77 games (74-0-3).

Irvine Valley 9, Golden West 0--Nichole Olson scored the first two goals of the game and seven others added single goals to lead visiting Irvine Valley (13-7-4, 9-3-2).
