The Costa Mesa operator of assisted-living communities posted a net loss of $1.6 million, or 9 cents a share, for the third quarter, compared with a net loss of $2.4 million, or 15 cents a share, for the third quarter of 1999. Revenue declined to $33.7 million from $34 million.
