CLU Show to Explore Role of Auditions

Aspiring thespians can learn about auditioning next week when California Lutheran University’s American Musical Theatre Ensemble presents “Audition Stories 2000.”

The performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20 in the Preus-Brandt Forum on campus. CLU is located at 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.

The show, filled with dancing, singing and comedy, will present the audience with the major dos and don’ts of any audition while teaching proper auditioning protocol. It is directed by Diann Alexander.

Seven CLU students skilled in auditioning are featured in the show, and will perform pieces from musicals, including “That’ll Show Him” from “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum,” “There Are Worse Things I Could Do” from “Grease,” and “Show Me” from “My Fair Lady.”

The theater ensemble is the performing arm of the school’s musical theater workshop.
