A 20-year-old Oxnard man was treated and released from St. John’s Regional Medical Center on Monday afternoon after being shot in the shoulder as he drove his car in El Rio earlier in the day, authorities said.
Armando Sepulveda, 20, was shot by one of five males in a car heading in the opposite direction in the 800 block of Salem Drive, said Ventura County sheriff’s spokesman Eric Nishimoto.
Nishimoto said the car, possibly a Honda, is maroon.
One of the passengers in the car flagged down Sepulveda and then opened fire, hitting him once.
Nishimoto said Sepulveda drove himself to the hospital, where the wound was treated.
