Delivery Driver Accused of Sexual Assault
A San Gabriel woman, who says she was sexually assaulted by a deliveryman, filed suit Monday against the home-delivery company PDQuick for failing to check the criminal history of the alleged attacker, who was on parole for a violent felony conviction.
Richard Connors, 39, of Pasadena has been held to answer on charges he attacked three Pasadena-area women in their homes last month. A PDQuick spokesman said Connors worked for the firm for two weeks and has been fired.
Connors is being held in Los Angeles County Jail pending his arraignment Nov. 20 in Pasadena Superior Court. He faces two counts of burglary, assault with intent to commit rape, felony sexual battery, simple battery and indecent exposure.
PDQuick released this statement Monday:
“Our hiring practices are in compliance with all legal requirements and every effort is made to ensure that we employ the highest caliber employees available.”
According to attorney David Wood, who’s representing the San Gabriel woman, Connors forced open the woman’s front door, “threw his arms around her, tried to kiss her and groped her.”
Wood said he discovered Connors’ criminal history with a $10 search on the Internet.
