The Yorba Linda/Placentia YMCA raised $17,000 at this week’s Kids to Camp golf tournament, officials said Tuesday.
“We doubled from last year,” said Clare McKenna, senior director of the local YMCA. “We had a super committee this year.”
The tournament, held each year to raise money for scholarships to summer camp, was held Monday at the Alta Vista Country Club. More than 110 golfers participated in the 14th annual event, with 120 attending the dinner and auctions, McKenna said.
The camp scholarships will help send children to the YMCA’s Y-Camp, where they can participate in horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, swimming and nature programs. Information: (714) 777-9622.
