5 Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash During Police Chase
Five people were injured in a three-car collision during a police pursuit of a man in a stolen pickup Friday night, authorities said.
The pickup hit a car and a sport utility vehicle at Sherman Way and Tyrone Avenue shortly after 8 p.m., knocking the SUV on its side, Los Angeles police spokesman Don Cox said. The injured, including the suspected car thief, were taken to area hospitals, Fire Department officials said.
The pursuit had been underway for about five minutes when the driver failed to stop for officers at Roscoe Boulevard and Willis Avenue, Cox said.
