Photographer Tony Sanders’ contemporary images, taken with a vintage, wooden Burken James 8-by-10-inch view camera, are featured in the exhibit “By the Way” at BC Space Gallery. Dozens of black-and-white photographs he took during the last 30 years include ancient architectural structures, artifacts, Stonehenge and the Pyramid of Giza. Sanders also traveled through the United States, including California, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico, in search of subjects. The exhibit is a record of artists and artistic perception from the early 1970s to the present.

* “By The Way,” BC Space Gallery, 235 Forest Ave., Laguna Beach. Free. Tuesdays through Fridays, 1-5:30 p.m.; other days by appointment. Through Dec. 2. (949) 497-1880.

Irving Berlin outdid himself, and that’s saying something, when he wrote the songs for “Annie Get Your Gun,” the 1946 musical loosely based on the life of Annie Oakley, the sharp-shooting star of 19th century Wild West shows. Nearly every song has become a standard, including “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly,” “I Got the Sun in the Morning,” “They Say It’s Wonderful” and “There’s No Business Like Show Business.” Marilu Henner plays Annie and Tom Wopat is Frank Butler, the rival marksman who becomes her love interest.
