* American Tortoise Rescue, which provides rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and protection services for turtles and tortoises in Southern California, needs volunteers to pick up and deliver turtles and tortoises and to write grants, Information: (800) 938-3553.

* Polio Survivors Plus, a newly formed support group in Laguna Niguel, for polio survivors, their friends and family, meets the fourth Wednesday of each month (this month’s meeting will be held the fifth Wednesday due to Thanksgiving).
